Dr Surakshith Battina is a fertility specialist, a laparoscopic surgeon and a cosmetic gynecologist.

With a keen interest in laparoscopic surgery, he completed a diploma in minimal access surgery at World Laparoscopic Hospital, Gurgaon under Dr Rakesh Mishra. He later trained for a year under the guidance of the late Dr Rakesh Sinha who holds two Guinness World Records in endoscopy.

He completed his next fellowship in endoscopy at D.Y Patil University, Mumbai. He underwent the accredited training program for robotic surgery with the Da Vinci Surgical Systems in the same year. He presents several papers in national and international conferences. He was a critical operating faculty for “Just Updates” 2014 conducted in Mumbai. In 2016 he presented an international paper on 3D vs 2D laparoscopy for American Association Of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) World Congress in Florida USA. In Aug 2019 he completed a fellowship in Onco-gynecology at the NHS in Stoke-on-Trent, U.K. In Oct 2018, Feb 2020 and Sep 2020 he attended three separate fellowship programs focussed on various aspects of retroperitoneal anatomy (the 6 avascular spaces, ureteric tunnel dissections and uterine artery ligation at origin) by Dr Dipak Limbachiya .

With an enthusiasm to learn new treatment avenues, he then focused his attention on cosmetic gynecology . He had completed his first Master course of Cosmetic Gynecology at ILAMED (Affiliated with University of Greifswald, Germany). His second Preceptorship in Surgical and Non-Surgical Cosmetic Gynecology was at IAVA, Mumbai. He attended the international workshop at ESAG, London in 2018 to enhance his skills in cosmetic vaginal surgery. In Oct 2018 he completed the Master Course in Cosmetic and Functional Gynecology ( Affiliated with ESAG, London) at Agra. He underwent the highest level of training available for cosmetic gynecology at ESAG, London in Feb 2019 under the mentorship of Dr Alexander Bader. He later trained in lasers, fillers and lipo-sculpting at ALMA Headquarters- Tel Aviv, Israel in Dec 2019

He trains several candidates on the principles and ergonomics of laparoscopic intracorporeal suturing. He is a faculty at ceMast, JnJ and Medtronics for their suturing skills workshop, dry lab, wet lab, and cadaveric workshop. He presented a talk on ureteric injuries on the Lapguru platform in 2019.

His expertise lies in his quick decision making and management of any issue laparoscopically. Dr Surakshith is a member of WALS, FOGARTY, AAGL , ESAG , ISAG . He aims to introduce newer technologies in laparoscopic surgical instrumentation in the coming years.
